Alone and lost she befriends Chato, a troubled graffiti artist who helps her discover an innate ability to create amazing works of art. As they scour their bleak urban surroundings their tale will intermingle with that of a burned out waitress, a desperate reporter, a social worker trying to forget her past life, and a nihilistic drug dealer.
